External IRB option expanded during Buck-IRB to Huron transition

Copied!

Ohio State allows IRB review to be ceded to Western Copernicus Group (WCG) for research projects that are industry-sponsored and industry initiated. To prevent the delay in the review and approval of new studies during the transition from Buck-IRB to Huron, the option to cede review to WCG will be expanded to all new non-exempt studies through March 10, 2025.

To cede a study to WCG, submit an application in Buck-IRB according to the instructions located under Request for Ceded Review. Please note that WCG is a commercial IRB that charges review and maintenance fees. These fees must be paid by sponsors and/or investigators.  Once a study has been ceded, it must remain with WCG for the study’s duration to maintain study continuity and integrity.

Research Administration Platforms Transition

Ohio State will be transitioning to the Huron Research Suite to support and facilitate several research administration functions over the next few years. The system is used widely and provides one, integrated, comprehensive research administration solution across multiple areas of ERIK-managed research activities.
