About Us
As part of the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK) Research Integrity pillar, the Human, Animal and Laboratory Investigations unit (HALI) provides independent oversight of research compliance efforts within ERIK’s human subjects, animal subjects and laboratory research operational endeavors.
HALI leads and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of all related university research compliance programs, including audits and investigations. Through the Associate Vice President for Research Integrity and Investigations, the HALI unit additionally reports to the Office of University Compliance and Integrity (OUCI) and works with OUCI to develop long-term compliance strategies and key reporting metrics as it relates to the institution’s human and animal subject research programs, laboratory and biosafety program and research investigations.
HALI works with faculty oversight committees and boards to promote ethical research practices and to assist in regulatory compliance reporting requirements and investigations.
