In this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Navigate the world of researcher coaching, understanding the dos and don'ts.
  • Hone the art of active listening to build stronger coaching relationships.
  • Develop effective coaching questions and discover the ideal moments for offering feedback while coaching peers or colleagues.
  • Tackle typical research coaching themes, discussions, and challenges.
  • Differentiate between executive coaching, research coaching, and research mentoring, discovering how they intersect.
  • Embrace the power of an action learning set approach for group coaching.
  • Utilize the Researcher Development Framework to facilitate meaningful research career conversations.

By the end of this workshop, you will have:

  • Gained an solid understanding of the importance of setting clear boundaries at the outset of a research coaching relationship.
  • Revisited the transferable skills between executive coaching and research coaching, enhancing your coaching skills.
  • Achieved clarity on the common themes in research coaching sessions.
  • Familiarized yourself with the Researcher Development Framework (RDF) as a valuable tool for researchers and its role in supporting researcher coaching.
  • Learned how to facilitate an action learning set to structure group coaching effectively.

In addition, you will receive access to a curated Padlet of coaching resources, further enriching your coaching knowledge and skills.
