Gladys Branegan-Chalkley

Born in the 1890s, Gladys Branegan-Chalkley, director of the School of Home Economics and professor emeritus at The Ohio State University, pioneered the development and growth of graduate programs in home economics. She expanded the graduate research program and approved PhD programs for education, nutrition and home economics.

The Gladys Branegan Fellowship was established after her retirement from Ohio State and provides graduate scholarships for human ecology students.
