Behnfeldt to lead Educate and Safeguard Research and Innovation pillar

Julia Behnfeldt, PhD, has been promoted to associate vice president for research integrity and investigations within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK).

In her new role, Behnfeldt will lead ERIK’s pillar – Educate and Safeguard Research and Innovation – through the coordination, execution and further development of the university’s compliance program for research and innovation efforts, to include overseeing key priority areas such as secure research, research misconduct, conflicts of interest, and human subjects research compliance. 

She most recently served as associate director and research integrity officer at the university, and prior to that was an assistant research integrity officer at the University of Michigan. She was also a U.S. Office of Personnel Management Presidential Management Fellow in the Office of Research Integrity of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Capital University and her doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from Ohio State.
