Applications are due Jan. 6
Self-nominations are open for the 2023 Growing Research Opportunities (GRO) Academy – an eight-week research leadership development program designed for faculty across disciplines. The 2023 cohort runs from March 3 - April 28 and includes about 30 hours of program participation, including: a kickoff retreat, weekly in-person two-hour sessions and weekly, virtual hour-long small group discussions. Applications are due Jan. 6.
“The GRO Academy helps researchers develop the skills and confidence to work on and lead effective interdisciplinary research teams,” said Julie P. Martin, assistant vice president for talent and team development in the Office of Knowledge Enterprise. “We’ve worked to create a curriculum that provides Ohio State researchers with a supportive environment for learning about principles of team science and apply them to their research collaborations.”
The program is open to all faculty from all campuses who are interested in leading research teams –especially interdisciplinary ones. Participants will be recognized as GRO Research Leadership Fellows and will begin a relationship with the Office of Knowledge Enterprise, which offers continued support for interdisciplinary team formation and large, complex proposal development.
There will be a virtual briefing about the program for interested faculty on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 4 - 4:45 p.m. The briefing will include information about the GRO program and a time to ask questions, which can be asked on the Zoom or submitted ahead of time to martin.4071@osu.edu.
