Annual conflict of interest disclosure period opens April 15

Copied!

Ohio State’s annual conflict of interest (COI) disclosure window is open from April 15 through May 15, 2024. To align with changing federal, state and university requirements, Ohio State faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers and students must annually disclose all outside activities, financial interests and other relationships from the previous 12 months that are related to—but not part of—their role at Ohio State. Researchers are also required to keep their disclosure form up to date within 30 days of any changes.

Policy Updates

New this year, the Outside Activities and Conflicts policy was revised to reflect new federal requirements regarding foreign talent recruitment programs. Employees are required to obtain pre-approval from their unit prior to participating in such a program by submitting an Outside Activity Approval Form. Additionally, federally-funded researchers are prohibited from participating in malign foreign talent recruitment programs. For details, see the Foreign Talent Programs Standard Operating Procedures.

Proactive, complete disclosure is the best way to meet this requirement.
