Loren Wold, ERIK’s senior associate vice president for research, has been named the University of Cincinnati’s vice president for research, pending approval by its Board of Trustees.
Over his 20-year career at Ohio State, Wold has held a range of academic and research leadership roles. He most recently has worked with ERIK to further strengthen the strategic direction and impact of Ohio State’s interdisciplinary centers and institutes. He is professor and the John G. and Jeanne Bonnet McCoy Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Surgery in the College of Medicine with a courtesy appointment in the College of Public Health. He also served previously as a faculty member at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Ohio State’s College of Nursing.
Wold will be with Ohio State through August 7 before starting with the University of Cincinnati on August 10. ERIK is working through a transition plan and will share more details in the coming weeks.
