The Innovation District at Ohio State began as a vision shared between The Ohio State University, the City of Columbus and JobsOhio to accelerate collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors — collaboration with the power to nurture our region, from economic success to health to social and cultural vibrance.
The Innovation District is growing and is now home to two new research and innovation buildings – the Energy Advancement and Innovation Center (EAIC) and the Pelotonia Research Center (PRC). These buildings include spaces for research, collaboration and events. Certain spaces are available for reservation by ERIK and building occupants to promote research, innovation, collaboration and partnerships across campus and with external stakeholders. External requests for space are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
General Guidelines
- Reservation requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis on the following timelines:
- 60 days out for recurring meetings and seminars
- 45 days out for events serving alcohol
- 30 days out if a caterer or third-party vendor will be used or non-Ohio State entities
- Seven days out for simple room reservations
- Requests for after-hours events (outside of regular business hours) and recurring meetings will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- The requesting party will be responsible for garbage removal, or any additional event needs.
- In rare instances, reservations may need to be re-accommodated in order to support priority events.

- Internal customers, rate amount will be actual cost of replace/fix reported furniture damage.

- External customers, mid furniture/FFE damage - $500.00 each
- External customers, major furniture/FFE damage - $2,000.00 each
Additional custodial hours
- Internal customers, rate amount will be actual cost of additional custodial hours
- External customers - $440 per hour
Additional furniture moving hours
- Internal customers, rate amount will be actual cost of additional furniture moving hours
- External customers, $200 per hour, contracted through external mover. $600 minimum, includes quote/contracting time. Rate basis is per hour per person.
Event cancellation
- 61-90 days prior to the event - internal and external customers, basis is the event contract/confirmation agreement. Cancellation rate amount is 33% of agreement total costs.
- 31-60 days prior to the event - internal and external customers, basis is the event contract/confirmation agreement. Cancellation rate amount is 50% of agreement total costs.
- 16-30 days prior to the event - internal and external customers, basis is the event contract/confirmation agreement. Cancellation rate amount is 75% of agreement total costs.
- 15 days or less prior to the event - internal and external customers, basis is the event contract/confirmation agreement. Cancellation rate amount is 100% of agreement total costs.
Tenant Fitout
- External customers, basis is the actual costs for project as requested and work performed.
