Spring Undergraduate Research Festival

Undergraduate researchers from across The Ohio State University will present their scholarly and creative work at the 2026 Spring Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF).

Ahead of the event, the SURF application is open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 22. Undergraduate students engaged in faculty‑mentored research from any discipline are invited to apply.

The annual event provides a university‑wide platform for students engaged in faculty‑mentored research to share their projects with the broader academic community. Designed as a poster‑style forum, the festival emphasizes communication of research to a general audience and welcomes students from all disciplines and colleges.

The 2026 festival will feature three 60‑minute presentation sessions, during which students will present and discuss their work.

Students are encouraged to present research at any stage of development. Final results are not required, making the festival an accessible opportunity for emerging scholars to gain presentation experience, receive feedback, and connect across fields of study.

The event is open to all undergraduate students participating in faculty‑mentored research, and attendees from the campus community are invited to engage with presenters throughout the day.
