Internal proposals for NSF Engines due May 13

Copied!

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently released the funding opportunity announcement for its second round of Regional Innovation Engines

For this round, each organization is limited to one letter of intent as a lead organization – Research Development is managing the internal selection process. Proposals from Ohio State investigators are due to the Limited Submission portal on May 13.

Ohio State faculty members appearing on projects led by other organizations should contact Niki DiGuilio via email at diguilio.4@osu.edu. If Ohio State is considered a core partner (see solicitation for the definition), the university will need to commit substantial resources at the pre-proposal stage (due August 6) and Research Development will work with researchers to understand roles and procedures for securing any needed institutional support. NSF is not limiting the number of applications that an individual can appear on that are led by other organizations.

The Engines program funds regional initiatives aimed at accelerating the pace of technology research and development—including associated commercialization, workforce and economic development activities—in geographically underserved parts of the United States. These are highly complex, mega-projects with required investments from relevant industry and government collaborators in the targeted region of services pledged to support up to $160 million in federal investment over 10 years.

Please contact Maureen Langlois (Langlois.8@osu.edu) or Niki DiGuilio (diguilio.4@osu.edu) with questions about the Engines program.
