The Ohio State University has named Holly Bante as Senior Director of Research Security within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK) – joining Ohio State on October 19.
Bante brings a wealth of experience in research security, export controls, research compliance and research ethics. Most recently, she served as associate vice president for Research Security and Ethics at the University of Cincinnati, where she provided leadership in advancing research security programs and fostering ethical conduct in research.
A recognized national leader in the field, Bante has been actively engaged in external partnerships and national research security initiatives. Her expertise and leadership will help support Ohio State’s continued growth as a national exemplar in research security and safeguard the university’s expanding research enterprise.
Bante succeeds Jim Giuliani who will retire on November 30 following a distinguished 31-year career at Ohio State. Over the past five years, Giuliani has led the university through a period of significant growth and increasing complexity. Under his leadership, he and his team expanded the university’s research security and national security capabilities, successfully managed complex investigations, and strengthened Ohio State’s position as a leader in safeguarding research.
“Jim has provided exceptional leadership during a period of tremendous growth and change, and we are grateful for his many contributions to Ohio State,” said Julia Behnfeldt, associate vice president of Research Integrity and Investigation. We are excited to welcome Holly and look forward to her leadership as we continue building a best-in-class research security program.”
