The Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship is hosting an Introduction to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

Created by Congress to facilitate technology commercialization, SBIR provides non-dilutive federal funding to small businesses developing breakthrough products and services.  Each year, 11 federal agencies award over $4.7 billion to small companies tackling national challenges—from aerospace and defense to clean energy and healthcare. With average awards between $150K and $1M, this program offers a vital path to early-stage growth.

Join Anthony Gillespie, Director, Strategic and Technology Based Partnerships and Technology Transfer Office for Parallax Advanced Research, to learn how SBIR works, who qualifies, and how to identify and apply for funding opportunities.

Key takeaways:

  • What types of businesses and technologies are best suited for SBIR/STTR
  • How to access available grants and prepare competitive proposals
  • Resources that may help improve your success rate
