El Gamal named National Academy of Inventors Fellow

Hesham El Gamal, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.  El Gamal is a world-renowned information theorist with key contributions to wireless communications that have been recognized by industry and academia.  His research has led to the development of pioneering technology that is helping revolutionize the mobile video delivery industry. He is one of 148 inventors chosen as an NAI Fellow in 2018, and Ohio State’s ninth NAI Fellow.
