Meet Janet Weisenberger
Jan Weisenberger is Ohio State’s Senior Associate Vice President for Research and a Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science. As the university’s Institutional Official, she oversees research services, including support of research grants and contracts, the protection of human participants in research, the welfare of research animals and research biosafety. Her research interests are in human perception in virtual environments and simulations. She directs Ohio State’s Driving Simulation Laboratory, which focuses on studies of driver behavior, including interactions with infotainment systems, driver distraction and driver perception of vehicle warnings and automotive technologies. Her research in multimodal perception has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Department of Education, Department of Transportation, State of Ohio, industry and private foundations. She received her BA in psychology and sociology from Edgecliff College and her PhD in psychology from Indiana University.
