As part of Ohio State’s partnership with Honda, the Office of Research is pleased to offer seed grants to promote collaborative innovation in the broad areas of smart mobility and smart city/campus.
The Ohio State/Honda Innovation Labs Seed Grant program strives to stimulate innovation in Honda’s newly opened Honda 99P Labs at 1255 Kinnear Road. The 99P Labs is a collaborative innovation space for Honda and Ohio State to develop technologies for the future of mobility and accelerate them into Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) by prototyping and testing new value hypotheses with real world data.
The Office of Research desires to promote interdisciplinary research with a potential for marketable and scalable innovations. We encourage faculty, along with their graduate and undergraduate student advisees, to explore new and innovative opportunities that could lead to significant products and services to advance societal needs in the areas of smart mobility and smart city/campus.
Within the broad context of smart mobility and smart city/campus, priority subareas include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data analysis and application
- Workforce development
- Business innovation
- Energy sustainability
- Human user experience
- Living laboratory experiments
Applicants may request up to a maximum of $25,000 (direct costs only) for an award period of up to six months.
The proposal deadline is Monday, March 4, 2019, at 5 p.m.
