Message for Researchers
Ohio State University researchers accomplish extraordinary things. But those accomplishments come in an environment full of challenges: compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring the safety and welfare of our human research participants and our research animals, searching for sources of research funding, and meeting reporting requirements create an administrative load that consumes time and resources. Streamlining the processes underlying these requirements is imperative.
We are dedicated to creating tools and services that minimize the burdens of research administration for Ohio State faculty, staff, and student researchers. Over time, we will be introducing new automated and electronic research support resources. This process has begun with Research Online.
Research Online: Ohio State’s Electronic Research Toolbox
Research Online is a one-stop source for all of Ohio State’s electronic research resources. With a single click, you can access information and forms for submissions of human subject and animal protocols, manage grant budgets via the PI Portal, generate e-PA005 requests for approvals for grant proposals, and seek new funding opportunities. You can also create travel requests, use grant submission software such as Cayuse424, get the latest updates on export controls, submit a conflict of interest declaration, or report an invention.
Research Online is a beginning. We will be working to implement new tools and improve existing ones. As we move forward, we welcome your input—comments, criticisms, suggestions. Tell us what you like and what you don’t. Help us to create a suite of resources that makes the load of research administration a little less burdensome, and that allows our researchers to scale ever greater heights of new discovery.
