IRB and Exempt Review for Research in the Arts and Humanities
Learn about the IRB and Exemption processes (human subjects research review). The workshop will focus exclusively on topics and examples concerning researchers in the Arts and Humanities, such as what "counts" as research according to federal regulations, how to navigate the review process if the regulations apply to you, how to effectively use the flexibility in the regulations to conduct artistic and humanistic research, and other frequently asked questions. Featured speakers will be IRB Chair and Professor Shari Speer, IRB Member and Comparative Studies Professor Tanya Erzen, and Senior Protocol Analyst--Exempt Research Cheri Pettey.
