Ohio State’s 2012 Innovator of the Year is Liang-Shih (L.S.) Fan, Distinguished University Professor and C. John Easton Professor of Engineering, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Jessica Winter, associate professor, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, is the 2012 Early Career Innovator of the Year, and Qussai Marashdeh, senior research associate, Department of Biomolecular Engineering, is the 2012 Student Innovator of the Year. These awards, established to support and stimulate entrepreneurial activity at Ohio State, recognize researchers working actively to promote commercialization of university intellectual property.

Nominations are closed and will be reviewed by a committee composed of individuals both internal and external to the university. The winners will be announced immediately following the “State of Research” address given by Dr. Whitacre on October 11, 2012, at the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater.
