The Public Research University: Forces of Change

Caroline Whitacre, vice president for research, delivered the annual State of Research address on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater.

In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Morrill Act, this year’s address, titled “The Public Research University: Forces of Change,” reviewed the influences that created today’s public research university and explored the forces that will shape its future. Along the way, Ohio State research that exemplified how the university is meeting these future challenges were highlighted.

A video of today’s presentation, as well as a copy of the text and slides, will be posted soon.
